A plug valve is a type of quarter-turn rotary valve used to control the flow of fluids (liquids or gases) through a pipeline. It has a cylindrical or conical plug that rotates inside the valve body to regulate flow. The plug has a hole through it that aligns with the flow path when open and blocks flow when rotated 90 degrees.
